S ez lehet, hogy egy olyan halál, mint az első tanítványok halála, akiknek el kellett hagyniuk otthonukat és munkájukat, hogy Őt kövessék; vagy egy olyan halál, mint Lutheré, akinek ott kellett hagynia a kolostort, és ki kellett mennie a világba. De minden egyes alkalommal ugyanarról a halálról beszélünk – a halálról Krisztus Jézusban, azaz a ‘régi én’ (óember) haláláról akkor, amikor Ő elhív valakit.” (Dietrich Bonhoeffer)
